Minimum Required Education and Experience
Master's degree with background in any of the following areas: Student Affairs, HR training and development, HR Employee Relations, Public Policy training and development.
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience working in Title IX or other Civil Rights Compliance areas, experience with facilitation, curriculum development and/or design, experience related to case management, proven ability to build effective relationships across various groups.
Job Duties
- →Case Management:
- →Stay up to date with Civil Rights Laws, regulations, and policies, including those related to Title IX.
- →Assist in the management of University reporting systems (Maxient and EthicsPoint).
- →Provide guidance to administrators, faculty, staff, and students of the procedures available for filing complaints, grievances, and appeals under federal and state regulations and institutional policies and procedures. -Coordinate the receipt and response of university harassment and discrimination complaints, working with both the Director of Compliance and Title IX Coordinator and the Director of Employee Relations and Culture to ensure accurate and timely completion of state and federal mandated submissions.
- →Provide Case Management support to faculty, staff, and students filing complaints, grievances, and appeals under Civil Rights Laws and state regulations and institutional policies and procedures.
- →Prepare and submit required compliance reports to relevant departments and senior leaders on campus.
- →Training and Outreach:
- →Serve as lead trainer for university related to Title IX and Civil Rights including training for responsible employees, students, staff, and faculty.
- →Assist the University Compliance Committee to organize, track, and administer training required for employees, students, and stakeholders related to Civil Rights Compliance training.
- →In partnership with Director of Compliance and Title IX Coordinator, develop and implement training for diverse audiences to increase awareness of university policy and procedures, compliance requirements, and ethical standards related to Civil Rights Compliance.
- →In collaboration with the Office and Academic Accommodations and Accessibility and the Division of Inclusive Excellence, identify areas where additional training is needed and coordinate with relevant offices.
- →Prepare and facilitate professional development and educational opportunities to the campus community regarding Civil Rights Compliance in alignment with compliance needs and community building practices.
- →Resolution Support
- →Assist in the capacity of an informal resolution facilitator when needed, primarily with complaints under the University’s Sexual Harassment Policy, but also as needed with complaints of discrimination and/or harassment for the university community, including matters that fall under the ADA, Title VI, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
- →Policy Development and Implementation, participate in the development, review, and updating of Sexual Harassment and other Harassment and Discrimination policies and procedures.
- →Communicate policy changes effectively across the organization and ensure understanding and adherence.
