Enable New Zealand is a Crown-owned entity on a mission; to support disabled people and their whānau to live everyday lives in their communities. We do this by effectively managing access to equipment, modifications and information services for disabled people and their whānau on behalf of Disability Support Services (DSS) – Ministry of Social Development (MSD) and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC).
With our head office centrally located in Palmerston North, we deliver services to thousands of New Zealanders each year as Aotearoa's largest disability equipment provider.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
We are looking for a Hire Equipment Driver/Installer to play a pivotal role with the delivery, installation and dismantling of equipment in Enable New Zealand’s customers’ homes.
You'll be an effective communicator with basic understanding of electrical repairs, and confident working with people from all backgrounds displaying empathy while undertaking work in sensitive environments.
Ngā mahi haepapa | Role responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of customer service working with customers and/or whānau to arrange equipment delivery/collection as required.
- Demonstrate safe use of equipment, ensuring users are confident to do so and answer related queries.
Carry out maintenance and refurbishment of equipment as required, possess a basic understanding of electrical repairs. - Represent Enable New Zealand when undertaking delivery/collection of equipment and be comfortable driving a large vehicle, at times for long durations.
- Movement (and stock take) of various types of equipment, including bulky items, for installation and dismantling to and from the warehouse.
- Undertake accurate system data entry to ensure customer information and equipment levels are recorded.
Uphold protocols regarding returned equipment, equipment cleaning and health and safety practices.
This is a permanent full-time position for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at our Christchurch Refurbishment Centre.
