  • →Welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, and structures, using various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • →Reads and interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding processes and materials required for each project 
  • → Inspects and maintains welding equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and safe to use 
  • →Performs repairs on broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases the size of metal parts as needed 
  • →Follows safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding is often preferred 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in welding is commonly required, with proficiency in multiple welding techniques 
  • Certification in welding from recognized organizations (e.g., AWS) may be required or preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, tools, and equipment, as well as the ability to read and interpret technical documents 
  • The job is physically demanding, requiring good hand-eye coordination, strength, and the ability to work in various positions and environments
