This role is responsible for creating a seamless, professional, welcoming, and compliant onboarding experience from offer acceptance through employee integration. The Onboarding Specialist will partner closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, Learning, Payroll, Safety, IT, hiring managers, and operational leadership to ensure every new employee is prepared, informed, and equipped for success from day one.
As Enterprise Electrical continues to grow and expand across multiple regions, this position will play an important role in supporting increasing hiring demands while maintaining a consistent and high-quality onboarding experience. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate and execute onboarding activities for new hires across multiple locations and job types, including field and office employees.
- Facilitate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screens, and new hire documentation.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of Form I-9, E-Verify, and all required employment documentation.
- Prepare onboarding schedules, orientation materials, and new hire communications.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees throughout the onboarding process.
- Partner with hiring managers and field leadership to confirm readiness for new hire start dates, including jobsite assignments, tools, PPE, access, and other requirements.
- Coordinate with Payroll, IT, Safety, Operations, and other internal teams to ensure system access, equipment, and onboarding requirements are completed on time.
- Maintain accurate employee records and onboarding information within BambooHR or other HRIS platforms.
- Support new hire orientation and help employees understand company policies, procedures, expectations, and available resources.
- Track onboarding progress and proactively follow up on outstanding requirements.
- Support audit preparation and ensure onboarding practices meet company and regulatory compliance standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve onboarding processes, efficiency, communication, and the overall employee experience.
- Respond to employee questions related to onboarding, policies, and initial employment matters.
- Assist with offboarding processes, documentation, and system updates as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Spanish-speaking ability required.
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience focused on onboarding, new hire processing, HR operations, or a related area.
- Experience managing high-volume onboarding in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting multi-location, field-based, and office workforces.
- Strong knowledge of onboarding processes, employment documentation, and HR compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of I-9 and E-Verify requirements, employee recordkeeping, background checks, and drug screening processes.
- Experience working within an HRIS platform. BambooHR experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively support field employees, frontline supervisors, office staff, and leadership.
- A strong customer-service mindset with a focus on delivering an excellent employee experience.
- Positive energy, professionalism, and the ability to serve as one of the primary faces of Enterprise Electrical for new employees.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly as business needs, priorities, and processes evolve.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience improving onboarding processes and driving greater efficiency is preferred.
- Construction, electrical contracting, or another field-based industry background is preferred.
Education & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license required due to potential travel to field locations and regional offices.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Full-time
- FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
- Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday, with flexibility required based on business and operational needs.
- Some early mornings, evenings, or weekend work may occasionally be required to support onboarding, workforce ramp-ups, audits, compliance deadlines, or urgent operational needs.
- Overtime may be required based on business needs and must be approved in advance by management.
- Occasional travel to jobsites and regional offices may be required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position primarily operates in an office environment but may require visits to active jobsites and other company locations.
The role may include:
- Frequent interaction with field employees and operational leadership.
- Exposure to varying jobsite conditions, including weather, noise, and PPE requirements.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Occasional standing, walking, and movement between office and field environments.
- Regular travel to field or regional locations as needed.
