About the role
Join us in Bengaluru as an Expert Engineer (UI Development), where you’ll take a leading role in shaping the design, architecture, and evolution of high-performance user interfaces for our Securities Finance platforms using ReactJS. These platforms are used globally by leading financial institutions and form a critical part of the client experience.
This is a senior individual contributor role for an experienced engineer who operates with a high degree of ownership and technical authority. You will be responsible not just for building UI components, but for driving frontend architecture, making key technical decisions, and ensuring solutions are scalable, performant, and aligned to complex business workflows.
You will play a key role within an agile, collaborative team, facilitating technical discussions, and providing direction to engineers, ensuring clarity, accountability, and momentum across projects. This includes leading by example, unblocking team members, and fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Own the design and development of complex, high-impact frontend systems using ReactJS, with a focus on scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability
- Drive frontend architecture decisions, including component design, state management, data flow, and overall application structure
- Lead technical design discussions, clearly articulating trade-offs, constraints, and rationale
- Partner with product, business analysts, and backend teams to translate complex, domain-heavy workflows into intuitive, robust UI solutions
- Diagnose and resolve performance and rendering challenges, identifying root causes and implementing scalable fixes
- Define and influence frontend engineering standards, including code quality, testing strategies, and design consistency
- Contribute to and optimize build systems and production readiness, including bundling, code splitting, caching, and deployment considerations
- Act as a technical mentor and point of escalation, guiding engineers and supporting end-to-end team delivery and raising the overall bar of the team
- Proactively identify and drive improvements across architecture, tooling, and development processes
What We Need
- 7+ years of frontend engineering experience, with deep expertise in ReactJS and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Proven ownership of frontend architecture, including making and defending key technical decisions
- Strong understanding of React internals, rendering behavior, and state management, with the judgment to choose appropriate trade-offs
- Deep knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals and their real-world impact on performance and scalability
- Track record of identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in production systems
- Experience with modern build tooling (e.g., Webpack, Vite) and optimizing applications for production environments
- Experience building complex, user-facing B2B applications, ideally in enterprise or regulated domains
- Ability to mentor and guide engineers, influencing technical direction without formal authority
- Clear, structured communicator who can articulate technical decisions and trade-offs with confidence
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- Consistently demonstrates deep technical understanding, able to explain systems from first principles, not just implementation
- Takes ownership of and drives frontend architecture and technical direction, influencing decisions beyond their immediate work
- Serves as a trusted technical authority, mentoring engineers and elevating overall team capability
- Identifies and resolves complex performance and scalability challenges with clear, structured approaches
- Raises the bar for code quality, system design, and engineering practices across the team
- Navigates ambiguity effectively, translating complex business requirements into clean, scalable, and maintainable UI solutions
