Volunteer Services Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Volunteer Services Coordinator supports all facets of the Volunteer Services through office management to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. The coordinator recruits, interviews and vets all new hospital volunteers and Ronald McDonald Family Room and Hospitality Cart volunteers, ensuring that all DNV and state requirements are met. The coordinator carefully matches volunteers with the appropriate roles and ensures training and other requirements are met. The coordinator manages volunteers in People Soft and the volunteer software and ensures that all background checks, health screenings and annual EOLs and compliance requirements are met. The coordinator also assists the Director of Volunteer Services with Auxiliary and Board initiative, and the coordinator also assists Ronald McDonald House staff with Ronald McDonald Family Room and Hospitality Cart initiatives, including helping in the Ronald McDonald Family Room as needed.

- At least one year's experience working with volunteers in a non-profit organization.
- Must have excellent computer skills in excel and word as well as excellent administrative skills.

Department Position Summary:
- Assists in all aspects of Volunteer Services and the Ronald McDonald Family Room.
- Encourages and maintains a standard of warmth, friendliness and prompt attention to all visitors, volunteers and others.
- Maintains strict standard of confidentiality regarding volunteer, patient, and family information.
- Schedules applicant interviews and conducts interviews for hospital, pet therapy, and Ronald McDonald Family Room volunteer positions and selects persons who share similar values and philosophy with the health system and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
- Coordinates annual health screenings for all volunteers, including Ronald McDonald Family Room volunteers, to assure continued compliance with DNV and state requirements and Erlanger and RMHC policies.
- Establishes and maintains a close working relationship with all volunteers, including keeping informed of all activities and lending support to the volunteers as needed.
- Maintains records of volunteer hours worked and prepares regular productivity reports with the volunteer services computer system, sharing with the health system and RMHC.
- Oversees annual volunteer training for all volunteers, including RMFR.
- Helps maintain all volunteer records including screening information, TB test results, etc., in an organized and accessible manner.
- Helps complete all Human Resource-mandated reference checks, sanction checks and criminal background checks.
- Assist with the coordination of the Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart volunteers, including integrating them into the RMHC system.
- Having a complete understanding of the Ronald McDonald Family Room and the Cervis scheduling application.
- Contribute to Erlanger and RMHC volunteer newsletter and events
- Support the Erlanger Volunteers Services team, as well as the Family Room Wellness Navigator and RMHC staff, as needed
