At ETEL, we're proud to be New Zealand's leading manufacturer of distribution transformers. For over 70 years, we've been designing and building products that keep communities, businesses and essential services connected to power. Our success is built on the expertise of our people, our commitment to quality, and a culture where continuous improvement is part of everyday work.

We're looking for a Transformer Quality Inspector to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in getting the details right and has a genuine passion for quality. You will play a critical role in ensuring all transformers manufactured by ETEL, including Special Projects, meet customer, regulatory and company standards.

As our Transformer Quality Inspector, you'll be involved throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring quality is built into every stage of production.

  • Carry out incoming inspections of purchased materials and components.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of transformers.
  • Verify quality documentation, test results and traceability records.
  • Identify, investigate and report non-conformances.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Procurement and Operational Excellence teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that reduce defects and strengthen manufacturing processes.
  • Help ensure our quality systems remain robust, compliant and audit-ready.

You may already be working in quality control, inspection, manufacturing or a related technical environment. Most importantly, you'll bring a strong eye for detail, sound judgement and a commitment to doing things right. Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience in quality inspection, testing or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, assembly or industrial manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a practical problem-solving approach.
  • Experience interpreting technical documentation, specifications or engineering drawings.
  • Confidence raising quality concerns and driving corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Experience with transformer manufacturing, electrical testing, ISO 9001 or related industry standards would be an advantage.

When you join ETEL, you're joining a business that values expertise, innovation and teamwork. We offer:

  • Competitive remuneration.
  • Opportunities for development and career progression.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • A convenient West Auckland location.
  • A supportive team environment where quality and continuous improvement are genuinely valued.

If you're passionate about quality and want to be part of a team that helps power communities across New Zealand and beyond, we'd love to hear from you.
