About the Role

The New Business Development Advisor (Advisor, New Business Develmt) drives direct and indirect sales, channel partnership development, and go-to-market execution for Canonas it incubates and commercializes new solutions. This role owns end-to-end sales cycles with target accounts, recruits and enables channel and reseller partners to extend market reach, and gathers customer and market insight to inform product development.   This position is full time and is considered virtual. The office will be open 5 days a week; however you will not be required to report to the office unless there is a specific business need.  Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
- Identify & Prospect Target Accounts to validate market fit and generate early demand - Own the direct selling process from initial discovery and solution positioning through negotiation and contract execution - Recruit & Enable Channel Partners and identify, onboard, and train referral partners, resellers, or systems integrators - Develop partner models including referral fees, revenue sharing, and co-marketing programs to align partner incentives - Gather Customer and market insights to product - Conduct customer discovery conversations and on-site visits; abstract customer needs into actionable input for product development and roadmap planning - Represent Canon at inventory events, conferences, and partner events to build pipeline and market visibility - Monitor competitive activity, emerging channels, and event opportunities relevant to the solutions portfolio - Source and manage external SME consultants and manage their contributions to accelerate solution readiness for go-to-market - Support the transition of solutions from incubation through go-to-market and eventual handover to established Canon business units, ensuring continuity of customer, partner, and market relationships - Partner with cross functionally with product, engineering, and program teams to translate customer, market, and partner insight into actionable roadmap and go-to-market input
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 7 years of related experience - Approximately 50% or more travel required to customer sites, partner locations, and industry trade shows/conferences - Strong grounding in consultative/solution sales, channel partner ecosystem development, and pipeline management required; familiarity with CRM and sales pipeline management tools and practices expected - Occasional evening or weekend work required to support trade shows, partner events, and customer engagements; not subject to a fixed on-call schedule - Individual must possess a clean valid state driver's license in order to obtain the position - This position requires driving, therefore a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are necessary. Additionally, because this position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job, must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies   We are providing the anticipated salary range for this role: $96,880 - $145,090 annually. This role is eligible for commissions under the terms of an applicable plan.
