The Payroll Associate ensures timely and accurate payroll processing and assists with payroll-related reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Process semi-monthly payroll for U.S. (multi-state), Canada, and international employees, ensuring compliance with country, federal, and state regulations.
- →Review and verify timesheets, earnings, and deductions.
- →Respond to and support employees on payroll inquiries, providing clear explanations and resolving issues promptly.
- →Collaborate with the HR department to process new hires, terminations, and compensation adjustments.
- →Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy.
- →Prepare payroll reconciliations for benefits.
- →Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
- →Assist with special payroll projects, including year-end reporting, system upgrades, and process improvements.
- →Prepare month-end reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger accounts in our accounting system to the payroll system.
- →Identify and explain variances in payroll accounts month to month & quarter to quarter
- →Responsible for keeping payroll policies and flowcharts current
- →Generate and analyze payroll reports to support finance, tax filings, and compliance audits.
- →Lead in year-end payroll activities, including the preparation and distribution of W-2s or other tax forms as well as year-end reconciliations.
Requirements
~1 min read- Associate’s degree or 2+ years of payroll experience.
- Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Experience with payroll systems such as UKG.
- Experience processing multi-state, Canadian, or international payroll is a plus.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth understanding of payroll processes.
- Ability to process accurate data while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, HR, Finance, and external agencies.
- Strong Excel skills.
The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 + bonus + benefits
