Patient Care Tech - Geneva General Hospital

We are seeking dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Emergency Department Technicians to join our team! We have Full Time and Per Diem opportunities available for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of a collaborative healthcare team.

As an Emergency Department Technician, you'll work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide essential patient care and clinical support while helping the Emergency Department operate efficiently.

As an Emergency Department Technician, you will provide hands-on support and help keep the department running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

• →Perform various patient care activities under the direction of a qualified Registered Nurse
• →Provide technical support to the Emergency Department team
• →Participate in unit activities and contribute as an active team member
• →Perform related clerical functions that support clinical operations
• →Review, complete, and terminally file Emergency Department records
• →Support accurate and organized documentation
• →Participate in unit, departmental, and organizational improvement activities as assigned
• →Maintain patient confidentiality and interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of acute care experience in a hospital setting
• Computer literacy required
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to organize, plan, and complete assignments under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Professional and courteous approach when working with internal and external customers

• Phlebotomy experience
• EKG experience
• Emergency Department experience
• Medical Terminology coursework
• Post-secondary education in a related field
• Experience with Microsoft Office products
• Experience with electronic medical records, including Meditech
• Excel and spreadsheet experience

• BLS certification — provided during your first week of employment
• CPI certification — obtained within 30 days of hire
