In our Budapest Design Center, we develop cutting-edge technologies that power the future of Enterprise, Communications, Industrial, and connected embedded systems. Our engineering teams contribute to a diverse portfolio that includes next-generation server platforms, embedded management controllers, firmware solutions, telecommunications infrastructure and manufacturing test automation systems. From high-performance computing platforms and storage servers to embedded control systems and scalable production test solutions, we deliver innovation across embedded and connected domains.
For our Design Center team, we are currently looking for a:
- Work on advanced embedded software and firmware solutions for leading global technology companies.
- Lead the development of innovative platforms spanning server management, telecommunications, and connected embedded systems.
- Work in a supportive, stable, and innovative engineering environment.
- Influence technical direction and software architecture across multiple projects.
- Share your ideas and technical expertise while helping shape future products and development processes.
- Work in the Budapest Science Park, located in the city center.
Responsibilities

- →Lead software design and implementation for complex embedded systems.
- →Own detailed design and, where appropriate, overall software architecture.
- →Take technical ownership of the software scope and represent Flex confidently in software-related discussions with customers.
- →Translate customer needs into technical scope, delivery plans, and clear priorities for the engineering team.
- →Maintain the software backlog, organize short-term work, and support Agile team practices.
- →Guide engineers, monitor progress, and help resolve complex technical challenges.
- →Collaborate with customers, project managers, hardware, validation, and manufacturing teams.
- →Drive requirements analysis, estimation, risk management, support system bring-up, integration, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- →Promote engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Have proven embedded software development experience, including embedded Linux, kernel, device driver, or low-level firmware work.
- Possess expert-level low-level programming skills and understand kernel or bare-metal environments, hardware interfaces, timing, and concurrency.
- Have experience designing software architectures and leading technical teams.
- Understand common serial communication concepts and interfacing devices across different bus systems.
- Have strong software-hardware integration, system bring-up, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Can take ownership of the software scope and drive technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders in English.
- Can align changing customer requirements with delivery plans in an Agile, continuous-delivery environment.
- Have practical knowledge of Git branching models and development workflows.
- Have scripting experience in Bash, Python, or a similar language.
- Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and software quality practices.
