At Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) our purpose is to 'open up the world for those who want to see'. Every day, we give people all around the world the opportunity to experience something amazing – travel!
As a Technical Lead, you will own the technical delivery of a squad, partnering with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure solutions that drive real business outcomes. You'll navigate complex technical challenges, influence architectural direction, and help build a high-performing engineering culture.
Every Flight Centre Corporate booking ends the same way: a ticket in a traveller's hands, and our team owns the service that makes that happen. Today it covers Australian bookings, and we're now taking it global, so any booking, anywhere in the world, can be ticketed through a single service. Whether a customer books a flight themselves online or a Travel Consultant builds it by hand and issues it with a click, it all runs through what we build, so reliability is the job. You'll help shape a platform that's growing from a national service into a worldwide one, with real impact on every traveller we serve.
Day to day:
- Lead large, complex software initiatives from design through to delivery
- Own the technical delivery and engineering direction of your squad

- Explore and introduce proven emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development practices
- Lead design, code, and architecture reviews that improve quality and consistency
- Mentor and coach engineers while supporting hiring, onboarding, and capability development

You'll be perfect for the role if you have:
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior engineering or tech lead responsibilities
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience delivering scalable, high-performance cloud-based systems and leading complex projects with ambiguous requirements
