Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join our Regulatory Compliance team in Amsterdam. We are looking for a colleague who is a self-starter, flexible and driven. In this role you will contribute with your expertise in advising on the set-up and realization of new projects while meeting regulatory requirements. You will be able to assess impact and draft clear and hands-on advice on impact and implementation, taking into account the needs of the business.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Analyze existing and upcoming regulations, assess their strategic and operational impact, and translate them into clear business and control requirements
- →Lead the implementation of regulatory changes ensuring seamless integration with the firm’s trading strategies and operational processes
- →Act as the primary senior compliance contact for the Trading department and provide expert advisory support on complex regulatory matters
- →Own and continuously enhance the firm’s regulatory compliance framework with a focus on trading related regulations
- →Draft, review, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal control documentation to ensure alignment with applicable regulations
- →Provide independent challenge and second-line oversight to business initiatives and developments
- →Lead and contribute to regulatory-driven business projects and strategic initiatives
- →Engage directly with regulators, exchanges, and other regulatory stakeholders; coordinate and respond to regulatory inquiries, inspections, and internal/external audits
- →Conduct regulatory risk assessments and monitor compliance with applicable obligations
- →Develop and deliver training programs across the organization on regulatory and compliance-related topics
- →Support senior management with regulatory updates, impact assessments, and reporting
- →You will collaborate closely with the Team Lead Regulatory Compliance.
Requirements
~1 min read- 5–8+ years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance within a financial markets environment.
- University degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong and demonstrable knowledge of the European regulatory framework (Wft, MiFID II / MiFIR, EMIR, MAR, SSR, DORA, etc.).
- Proven experience in drafting and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
- Experience interacting directly with regulators and managing regulatory inspections or audits.
- Experience advising business stakeholders in a global financial or exchange-trading environment.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments and financial markets.
- Experience performing regulatory impact assessments and compliance risk analysis.
- Digital assets knowledge is an advantage.
- High level of integrity, independence, and professional judgment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to operate effectively under time pressure in a fast-paced environment.
