Flying Bark Productions is working on exciting projects such as Netflix's Stranger Things animated series, the recently announced Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Marvel Studios’ What If…?, Disney Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, as well as our production Tales From Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan.
The Animation Production Coordinator will coordinate with the Line Producer, Production Manager and production team in the efficient running and delivery of the show to meet creative and production schedules. The role has a responsibility to raise any concerns for production delays and ensure all communication and job requirements are kept for as long as the Production Company requires.
Key Responsibilities:
All duties and responsibilities as reasonably required by the Production Company of Production Coordinator including:
- Coordinate the daily operations of your Animation team, serving as the central point of contact between the respective department heads, Production, artists, and supervisors.
- Prioritise department and crew tasks in alignment with schedule requirements, regularly checking in with artists, leads, and supervisors to ensure timely delivery of departmental outputs according to project schedules.
- Ensure the vendor is informed about deadlines and equipped with all necessary information and materials to meet project timelines.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings, rounds, and reviews, ensuring a smooth approvals process. Follow up internally and with other departments to ensure seamless communication.
- Track shot approvals and coordinate the delivery of shots to and from editorial. Monitor deliveries to and from other departments, both internal and external, as required.
- Maintain effective internal and external communications, ensuring production crews are informed of all relevant updates.
- Provide weekly reports on department status and progress to the Production Manager and Production Supervisor.
- Attend necessary department meetings, take and distribute notes, and enter and maintain notes in the database.
- Update and maintain Shotgrid, ensuring accurate and up-to-date project information.
- Notify the Production Manager and Production Supervisor of any team issues, delays, or overages, and actively contribute to issue resolution.
- Provide support to the artistic crew and the production management team.
- Demonstrate conflict resolution skills, offering well-reasoned solutions within a dynamic and creative environment.
- Liaise with the Production crew to schedule the VFX Supervisor & CG Supervisors time for review.
- And all other duties and responsibilities as reasonably required by the Production Company.
About you::
- Possesses the ability to handle confidential information and material with discretion and professionalism at all times.
- Shows written and verbal communication skills, with a special focus on fostering good connections with vendors.
- The ability to deal with Confidential information and material in a discrete and professional manner at all times;
- Excellent diary management skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Patient and empathetic nature while dealing with artistic personalities
- High level organisational skills-experience in administration and managing files, producing and formatting documents and updating spreadsheets;
- A good level of formatting and document preparation and presentation skills desirable;
- The ability to work to deadlines and under pressure;
- Be available, proactive and a problem solver;
- Have a flexible approach and able to take on extra tasks when required
