Responsibilities associated with this position involve the analysis of all accounts and reports related to gross profit, sales, purchases and inventories.
- Calculate and audit gross profit percentages by analyzing all accounts and reports related to gross profit, sales, purchases and inventory.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
- Maintain asset and liability work papers and balance accounts.
- Audit monthly financial statements and analyze expenses.
- Correspond and resolve with other departments regarding gross profit and financial statement issues.
- Prepare monthly summary reports listing items affecting gross profit and expense amounts and reports as needed.
- Prepare and file business license renewals.
- Prepare and file various tax returns.
- Prepare audit work papers.
- Profile financial statements.
- Analyze and balance various accounts.
- Prepare note schedules and interest calculations.
- Schedule grocery/pharmacy inventories.
- Responsible for permanent recording and storage of financial statements.
- Maintain fixed assets and prepare capital expenditure budget.
- Prepare budgets and goals.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school graduate, supplemented by a four-year college degree
- 3-5 years accounting experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of debit and credit bookkeeping principles.
- Demonstrated experience using analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to type with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to assign work, recognize work related needs and make recommendations to pursue their successful conclusion.
- Ability to maintain strictest confidentiality.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
· Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties
