Cleaner/Dish Washer

OUR GOAL at FoodHub is to create Superior Products and serve these products Politely and Promptly. 

We seek applicants with 3 years of continuous and dependable performance in commercial cleaning and dishwashing services. The preferred candidate should be experienced at performing in a fast-paced, high-volume, hospitality/restaurant environment. Ideally, the selected candidate:

• Becomes aware of and adheres to the Occupational Job Safety and Health Protection regulations
• Communicates directly to Location Manager(s) on duty for all matters relating to their contracted services
• Observes and complies with the company's established guidelines to health regulations as per a licensed restaurant establishment
• Organizes and carries out their contracted services with a sense of urgency around the assigned location's peaks
• Shares workspaces with other Independent Contractors and Employees who may have similar but different duties
• Ensures that their language and actions are respectful, non-abusive, nor disrupts others when on the premises and during the performance of their services
• Exhibits politeness, patience and is cool-headed when working under pressure
• Takes advisement from the Location Manager at times without notice in times of supply outages, equipment malfunctions, encountering difficult situations, and when meeting the prompt demands of the location
• Realises the importance of personal hygiene and appearance - attends to the Store Location in clean clothing, neatly groomed hair/scalp/face, and no unpleasant body odours. Clothing should be free of tears, dirt, and obscene messages. Maintains the cleanliness of hands/nails, face/eyes/ears/nose, and mouth/teeth/breath
• Ensures that they are not taking medications, intoxicants, or substances that may cause drowsiness, aggression, mood changes, irritability or other side effects that will hinder the completion of the agreed services to perform
• Provides a Criminal Background Check Letter no more than three (3) months old and is prepared to have their photo taken

NOTE: Successful candidate(s) will agree to become Independent Contractors and not expect similar terms to an Employee. Independent Contractors may perform agreed services weekly, for special events, emergency relief, or a combination of all when contracted. Payment of Social insurance, Health Insurance and any other benefits associated with employment are the sole responsibility of the Independent Contractor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Adheres to agreed time frames to perform services that may include early mornings, nights, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and/or Public Holidays
• Copes with performing services past store closing hours and longer hours with about Special Events
• Has a direct contact number that is in service to contact Location Manager if unable to perform services or other related matters c
• Follows proper cleaning and sanitation procedures to avoid cross contamination, illness to others or injuries
• Uses company approved products as per manufacturer's instructions and with proper safety guidelines
• Manages use of supplies in a cost-effective and safe manner
• Washes pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. in commercial kitchen setting and is proficient in using  commercial equipment 
• Uses 3-compartment sink in a proper and safe manner
• Stores utensils/bowls/cutting boards, cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment safely
• Cleans various surfaces such as walls, counters, floors, doors, windows, restrooms, patios, etc. as required
• Disposes of location garbage to specific dumpsters, cleans rubbish bins and mop pails when required
• Sweeps and mops floors to remove grits, gravel, food scraps, litter, stains, dirt, and dust. Uses WET FLOOR caution signs.
• Assists team members occasionally with moving commercial equipment for deep cleaning around the space
• Fully cleans restrooms that may include urinals, windows, mirrors, trash removal, feminine sanitary bins, sweeping, mopping, and wiping doors 

QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES:

• 3 years of continuous employment in a similar fast-paced setting
• Is a good timekeeper who can be counted on to show up ready to perform the services required
• Is hard-working, organised, trustworthy, and has a harmonious personality 
• Able to read and understand directions/instructions on supplies, equipment and notices
• Can communicate without argument, profanity, threatening words/gestures, shouting, or causing willful damage
• Energetic and ably agile to move quickly in an organised manner especially during peak periods
• Physically able to lift, push, pull weights up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods
• Having transportation an asset
