Information System Security Manager (ISSM)

• Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 plus comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, level, and program requirements.
• Years of Industry Experience:
  • ISSM: 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Senior ISSM: 7+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years of specialized experience in Information Systems Security Management.
• Security Clearance Requirement: Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance (or interim) at the start of employment and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) Clearance.

About the Role. G2 Ops supports mission-critical defense and technology initiatives by solving complex operational and engineering challenges. We are seeking motivated, collaborative Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) to support Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) efforts across Navy acquisition programs.

In this role, you’ll contribute to technical cybersecurity assessment and oversight by reviewing program cyber posture, identifying meaningful cybersecurity risks and monitoring gaps, recognizing recurring trends across programs, and helping drive technically sound remediation while working alongside a team that values innovation, technical excellence, and continuous growth.

What You’ll Do

• Perform technical cybersecurity assessments supporting Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) activities across Navy acquisition programs.
• Evaluate program cybersecurity posture to identify meaningful technical risks, control weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and monitoring gaps.
• Analyze cybersecurity findings and monitoring results to distinguish significant risks from lower-priority issues and support risk-informed decision-making.
• Identify recurring cybersecurity trends, systemic issues, and common monitoring gaps across supported programs.
• Assess the technical adequacy of proposed remediation activities and recommend approaches for addressing identified cybersecurity risks.
• Track cybersecurity risks and findings to support effective remediation and continuous monitoring.
• Collaborate with program cybersecurity, engineering, and technical stakeholders to understand system risks and recommend technically sound courses of action.
• Support information security program implementation, including security strategy, policy enforcement, security awareness, emergency planning, infrastructure, personnel, and other resources as applicable to the assigned level.
• Provide technical cybersecurity insight and oversight to help programs strengthen their security posture and improve the effectiveness of continuous monitoring activities.
• Communicate technical findings, risks, trends, and recommendations clearly to technical and program stakeholders.
• Note: This role is not primarily RMF documentation or system administration.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Candidates may qualify at either the Senior or Principal level based on education, experience, and certification requirements:
  • ISSM: Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience, including specialized information systems security experience.
  • Senior ISSM: Graduate degree and 7+ years of relevant cybersecurity, information systems security, cybersecurity engineering, or closely related experience, including at least 5 years of validated specialized experience in Information Systems Security Management.
• Experience assessing cybersecurity posture, technical security risks, vulnerabilities, security controls, or security control effectiveness.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity Continuous Monitoring principles, security controls, risk assessment, vulnerability management, and remediation activities.
• Ability to analyze technical cybersecurity information, identify meaningful risks and trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and customer-facing environment.
• Certification appropriate to the applicable level:
  • ISSM: CompTIA Security+ CE, CAP, CASP, or Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Senior ISSM: GSLC, CISSP, CISM, CAP, or CASP.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoD or government programs.
• Experience supporting Navy acquisition programs or similar mission-focused environments.
• Familiarity with Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) activities within DoD cybersecurity environments.
• Experience evaluating cybersecurity risks and trends across multiple systems or programs.
• Experience working in cross-functional or customer-facing environments.

Compensation & Benefits. The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 – $180,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and the level at which the candidate is hired.
