We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with deep expertise in Excel, SQL, Python, and Access to support and enhance our accounting systems. This role focuses on automating workflows, transforming raw financial data into structured databases, and building advanced reporting tools. The ideal candidate can take large Excel-based datasets and convert them into efficient SQL or Access databases for analysis and long-term use.

Responsibilities

Import, clean, and restructure Excel data into SQL Server or Access databases.
Build automated pipelines that transfer data between Excel, SQL, Access, and accounting/ERP systems.
Write optimized SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and aggregations for financial reporting.
Develop advanced Excel models, VBA macros, and programs to prepare data before database migration.
Use Python (pandas, openpyxl, xlwings) to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
Design relational databases in Access or SQL Server for recurring accounting datasets.
Create dashboards and reports to provide clear insights into financial and operational performance.
Reconcile and validate migrated data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Document workflows, data dictionaries, and best practices for ongoing use.

Qualifications

Expert-level Excel skills: advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, VBA automation.
Strong SQL expertise (queries, stored procedures, optimization, schema design).
Proficiency in Python for ETL and automation (pandas, NumPy, openpyxl, xlwings).
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Access: designing tables, relationships, queries, and reports.
Strong understanding of accounting workflows, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Ability to translate messy Excel-based data into structured, relational databases.
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Accounting, or related field.

Preferred Skills

Experience integrating accounting/ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) with SQL/Access.
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI platforms.
Knowledge of database performance tuning and automation best practices.
