About Generate Canada
Generate Canada is a not-for-profit organization that for 30 years has been bringing together leaders from government, business, academia and civil society to drive change aimed at strengthening Canada’s economy, and the natural and social systems on which it depends.
We have built a national platform of pre-competitive innovation labs that we call ‘Solution Spaces’. They help develop and scale solutions—be it partnerships, investments, policies, standards, and/or new technologies— that are deemed most critical for a clean economy and a resilient future.
Our portfolio of Solution Spaces is ever-evolving to respond to complex and persistent challenges, and to fill gaps not already being addressed by other organizations. We are currently focused on advancing regenerative agriculture, the circular economy across construction and plastics supply-chains, and blended sustainable finance for nature-based solutions.
Join the work to advance a more resilient food system
Founded in 2023 as a Solution Space of Generate Canada, the Canadian Alliance for Net-Zero Agri-food (CANZA) grew out of a small group of passionate industry leaders willing to test ideas and work together in a pre-collaborative space to find real solutions. We collaborate with farmers, organizations, food and beverage processors and retailers, and researchers to develop and scale practical solutions that reduce emissions, improve environmental outcomes, and create new value across the agri-food system.
What You’ll Do
As the Marketplace Implementation Coordinator, you will play a central role in driving day-to-day operations and execution across the CANZA Marketplace and associated work related to CANZA’s Measurement, Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MMRV) initiatives. This role combines dedicated leadership over specific streams of work with active collaborative support across the broader Marketplace team to ensure seamless delivery of our organizational goals.
This position will bring knowledge of sustainable and regenerative agriculture practices to champion key workstreams. As part of this role, you will have ownership of enhancements to the Marketplace searchable directory to improve user experience and deepen partner relationships across Canada, while consulting with the Director on strategic direction. At the same time, you will work closely with the full Marketplace team to support, coordinate, and execute activities led by other team members - helping maintain detailed workplans, conducting research, and supporting testing of new functionality in the Marketplace and other associated technology platforms.
Working under the guidance of the Director, Data & Marketplace Strategy, you will bridge structured project management with hands-on coordination. You will ensure milestones are met, practical and high-quality research is conducted, progress reports and documentation are delivered accurately, and our collective efforts effectively advance CANZA’s mission across Canada's agrifood sector.
As Marketplace Implementation Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:
Research and Tool Development
- Provide subject matter expertise to support the development and evolution of Marketplace and Measurement, Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification tools, programs and resources, ensuring content and functionality are representative of emerging trends in agriculture and sustainability.
- Participate directly in testing and quality assurance for new Marketplace tool features and digital functionalities prior to wider rollout.
- Lead research on regenerative agriculture, sustainability, MMRV and environmental markets, serving as an internal resource and translate findings into actionable program recommendations.
- Serve as the lead and champion for designated Marketplace workstreams, such as the searchable directory.
Documentation, Reporting and Proposal Support
- Keep project documentation and reporting templates structured, up to date, and organized across workstreams.
- Support the team by contributing technical subject matter input, as well as preparing, formatting and synthesizing materials for pitch decks, proposals and concept notes.
Stakeholder Engagement and Operations Support
- Organize, document, and follow up on team and partner meetings to support seamless communication and stakeholder engagement across the Marketplace portfolio.
- Assist in tracking project timelines, action items and dependencies to keep cross-functional team efforts aligned and moving forward smoothly.
- Perform other related project coordination and operational duties as assigned to support the evolving needs of the Marketplace team and organizational priorities.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Program Lead and Sr. Project Manager to support the planning, tracking, and execution of broader Marketplace and MMRV initiatives and team-led activities.
- Assist in maintaining proactive, professional correspondence with external system actors, serving as an approachable operational point of contact for meeting logistics, routine inquiries, and information sharing.
