Lead Thermoforming Operator Nights 6:55pm to 7:00am

Leads daily thermoforming operations across all six machines by coordinating operators, monitoring safety, quality, and production performance, completing required documentation, and supporting troubleshooting and corrective action. Works under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, with final oversight provided by the Production Manager.

1. →Lead the safe operation of all six (6) Thermoformers within defined specifications, providing direction and support to operators as needed.
2. →Monitor heating and cooling performance on all machines, coordinate corrective action, and promptly escalate unresolved issues.
3. →Oversee and perform startup and shutdown of all Thermoformers, ensuring established procedures are followed.
4. →Identify process deviations and lead machine or process adjustments required to restore efficient operation and product quality.
5. →Verify that oilers on trim presses and Thermoformers are checked at the start of each shift and filled as needed.
6. →Lead roll changes efficiently while minimizing scrap, downtime, and material loss.
7. →Operate and guide others in the use of micro phaser and ballerina control panels to obtain readings and make required
8. →Read instrumentation gauges, verify accurate heat readings for each machine, and ensure results are properly recorded.
9. →Oversee and perform required quality checks, including burning, cold cracking, and registration, for each
10. →Train and coach operators on the correct packaging requirements, including boxes and poly bags, for each product type.
11. →Coordinate the stocking of packaging materials, including boxes, poly bags, and foam rolls, before each production run.
12. →Ensure finished products meet required width, gauge, weight, and other applicable specifications.
13. →Maintain the ability to use a fire extinguisher and reinforce emergency response expectations with the team.
14. →Review and ensure accurate completion of required documentation, including first-piece inspections and production logs.
15. →Coordinate resources and obtain appropriate technical assistance to resolve issues and return equipment to operation promptly.
16. →Maintain comprehensive knowledge of quality standards for all products and coach operators on identifying acceptable and unacceptable output.
17. →Lead housekeeping efforts and ensure all production areas remain clean, organized, and free of debris.
18. →Analyze operating data to identify machine or material problems and direct timely corrective action.
19. →Lead troubleshooting activities as issues arise, involve team members as appropriate, and escalate when additional support is needed.
20. →Interpret written, oral, diagrammed, and scheduled instructions and communicate clear work directions to operators.
21. →Verify that operators can distinguish acceptable from unacceptable quality and provide coaching or corrective direction when standards are not met.

11. Smell: 5% of the shift.
12. Ability to lift: 25 pounds/Max.

14. Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The Lead Thermoforming Operator is responsible for personal compliance with all safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures and for reinforcing safe work practices across the thermoforming team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Compliance with all facility rules and regulations.
2. Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor.
3. Maintain floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities.
4. Communicate to Management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures.
5. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)/properly and reporting any defective PPE.
6. Report all near misses, accidents, injuries, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders.

Employees will be working in a Manufacturing and/or Warehouse environment in all types of weather. Conditions may range from and include hot, cold, humid, loud, working near airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic.

Minimum of one (1) year manufacturing experience; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience. Need to have good math, reading, and writing skills.
