Build better healthcare together

Maple's purpose is to meet the world's healthcare needs. We're Canada's leading on-demand healthcare platform, connecting patients with Canadian-licensed doctors, nurse practitioners and specialists. Today, we're proud that over 8 million patients and 7,000 businesses and government partners have access to same-day, proactive and ongoing care. We enable people to take control of their health and push the boundaries of what's possible every day.

Bold minds. Big impact.

A career at Maple is about making an impact. We empower bold thinking, surround you with an inspiring team and are driven by a motivating purpose. Here, you'll do work that changes lives — including your own.
We're hiring a Senior Manager, People & Culture to join our small, high-performing People and Culture team. Reporting to the VP, People and Culture, you'll connect Maple's people strategy to our business priorities — making sure the programs we run don't just support the business, but help drive it forward as we scale.

This is a builder-doer role. You'll partner closely with functional leaders as a strategic HR advisor, and lead and execute programs that shape the everyday employee experience. You'll also coach members of the wider P&C team, helping them grow while strengthening the operational foundations we all rely on.
As the Senior Manager, People and Culture, you will:
  • Act as the primary P&C partner for designated business units — advising leaders on employee relations, workforce planning, change management and performance

  • Own and elevate core HR operations, including payroll oversight and benefits administration, so our internal processes stay accurate, scalable and compliant

  • Lead the design and delivery of company-wide people programs, including performance cycles, compensation reviews and our learning and development plan — including manager training that helps our people managers grow

  • Keep our policies modern and human-first while staying ahead of Canadian employment standards and compliance requirements

  • Use people data and insights to guide decisions and bring clear, grounded recommendations to senior leadership on organizational health, engagement and retention

  • Coach and develop a small team of direct reports, setting clear priorities and creating space for them to do their best work

  • Champion AI as a way of working — bringing it into our processes, programs and decision-making to help the team move faster, smarter and with more impact

  • In your first 90 days, you'll have built strong relationships with business unit leaders, gotten a clear read on their priorities and challenges, and completed a top-to-bottom assessment of our current people processes, policies and tools — with a clear point of view on where to modernize first.

Over the next 12 to 18 months, you'll lead the P&C initiatives that come out of that assessment, with measurable improvements in operational accuracy and the quality of our business partnership. Success will look like compensation and performance cycles that run cleanly, policies and playbooks that have evolved with the business, and a leadership team that sees you as a trusted advisor.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources or People Operations.

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. CHRP or equivalent certification is an asset

  • Demonstrated experience as an HR business partner to senior leaders, with strong judgment in complex, high-stakes situations

  • People management experience, with a track record of developing team members and setting clear priorities

  • Deep working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, organizational design and operational HR

  • Experience overseeing payroll and benefits, with a solid grasp of Canadian compliance and employment legislation

  • Strong analytical skills — you can read the data, spot the story and translate it into recommendations leaders can act on

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage stakeholders at every level

  • A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution — you're equally at home in a leadership conversation and in the details of a program rollout

  • Experience in a startup, scale-up or SaaS environment is an asset

  • Play to your strengths. Finding the right fit goes both ways — so this section is yours to complete. When you join, you'll add the unique strengths you bring that aren't captured above.

We recognise our people's health is everything. That's why we take care of them.
