The role of a Risk & Regulatory Analyst



As part of the expansion of our activities, we are looking for an experienced Risk and Regulatory analyst to strengthen our team. You will have a key role in risk management and compliance with regulatory obligations for our two entities: GLAS, a payment institution and Pristine, an asset management company. You will work closely with the Senior Risk and Compliance Manager.


To be successful in the role of Risk & Regulatory Analyst within GLAS and Pristine, you will require a well-rounded knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management. This role implies improving the overall control environment of both entities. You will provide ongoing assurance as to the adequacy and operation of key controls.

The function ensures adherence to internal control policies, elaborates on policies and implementing guidelines, is involved in regulatory compliance, raises awareness of risks, and promulgates control best practices.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Draft or update policy mappings, procedures, and operational methods in collaboration with operational teams
  • Participate in the production of regulatory reporting for the AMF and ACPR as well as non-regulatory reporting
  • Assist the Senior Risk and Compliance Manager by raising awareness, performing controls, and ensuring that the risk management framework is effective and operational, which includes the Risk & Control Self-Assessment Framework
  • Assist with the collation of Key Risk Indicators and risk meeting data points
  • Involved with the review and follow ups required to ensure that incidents logged reflect the issue, identify the control gaps and that the action items correctly remediate the issue 
  • Collecting and analysing incidents to ensure that relevant lessons are learnt; agreed action plans monitoring and escalating the issues to the management attention when necessary
  • Assist with the preparation of risk presentations and case studies of incidents
  • Assists with global risk initiatives, thematic risk reviews and other remediation/assurance work that delivers concrete risk reduction/mitigation
  • Develop an understanding of the roles, processes and key operational risks and challenges encountered by each team including the regional nuances
  • Promotes a strong risk and control culture, positive learning environment, contribute to risk awareness training and development, and help to ensure that learnings and best practices are shared in an effective way
  • Produce the minutes for the risk and compliance meetings
  • Assist in monitoring upcoming regulations and changes to existing regulations to determine their impact
  • Assist in managing the outsourced internal audit function along with conducting risk audits and spot checks on the business



Key skills and experience required are:


  • Education: Bac+5 in finance, management, law, audit or any other relevant diploma
  • 5+ years’ experience in Risk Management/Regulatory in asset management or financial markets
  • Excellent knowledge of regulations relating to payment institutions (ACPR) and/or asset management (AMF)
  • Experience in risk management concepts (RCSA, incident management, risk indicators)
  • Languages: fluency in French, English (high proficiency in professional settings, ease in communication and comprehension)
  • Entrepreneurial business focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders in a purposeful and constructive manner
  • Proactive thinker and planner with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify issues and escalate accordingly
