Typically requires a HS Diploma or GED or AA/AS degree (or another 2 year post HS training) and 4 or more years of relevant experience
4+ years’ experience in (three or more) of the following areas:
- HVAC and Building Automation Controls
- Maintenance of pumps, motors, valve and actuator operation
- Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
- Refrigeration cycles
2+ years’ experience reading and interpreting blueprints and complex schematics as well as OSHA regulations and standards for Safe work practice, hazard assessment and mitigation.

Computer experience in the function and application of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as well as common office technology including MS office suite of software and other Web based tools.
Experience in Electrical, VFD's and motor controls and leading team members
PLC controls troubleshooting
Ability to work 12-hour shifts

Responsibilities

→The position focus will be to maintain, troubleshoot and repair all infrastructure systems including HVAC, Chilled Water Distribution, pumps, motors, and frontend Building automation controls.
→In this role you need to perform as a first night shift compressed facilities mechanic supporting plant operations.
→The positions will rotate between the day and night shifts, with the night shift running from 1430-2230.
→Provide coverage and support for the facility days/nights/weekends if business, schedule, or emergency situations arise.

→How to manage facilities operations in a 40,000 square foot manufacturing building; gain technical experience working alongside senior mechanics and contractors and learn to troubleshoot large infrastructure equipment and controls.

This is an onsite role qualified candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the Chesapeake VA hub.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 43,400 USD - 82,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
