In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

 

To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, GMIN Ventures Guyana Inc. is seeking expressions of interest for the position of:


We are looking for a skilled and reliable Scaffolder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for erecting, dismantling, and maintaining scaffolding structures to ensure safe access for construction and maintenance work. The successful candidate should have experience working at heights, a strong understanding of safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities 



  • Erect, modify, inspect, maintain, and dismantle scaffolding structures in accordance with approved designs and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the safe transportation, sorting, and placement of scaffolding materials and equipment.
  • Ensure scaffolding systems are properly secured, levelled, braced, and compliant with site requirements.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections and identify defects or hazards associated with scaffolding structures.
  • Install guardrails, toe boards, access ladders, and fall-protection systems as required.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and trades personnel to ensure scaffolding requirements are met efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas and ensure scaffold components are stored properly.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and inventory control of scaffolding materials.





Qualifications/Skills and Experience



  • High School Diploma/CSEC
  • Previous experience in scaffolding, construction, industrial, mining, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • Experience with ringlock scaffolding systems would be an asset.
  • Experience erecting and dismantling various scaffold systems.
  • Knowledge of scaffold safety standards, inspections, and fall-protection requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret scaffold drawings and work instructions is an asset.
  • Clearly document work completed and report issues encountered.
  • Other duties are required



Working Conditions


  • Position based at the OKO Project site - Fly-in/Fly-out
  • Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days off
  • Transportation, accommodation, and meals are provided on site
