Reporting to and working closely with the Finance Controller, the Payments & Finance Operations Manager is responsible for leading the Company’s finance operations, with ownership of payments, banking, accounts payable, and core financial processes across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Payments & Accounts Payable
Take ownership of all outgoing payments across the Company and Group Entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate authorisation
Oversee the full Accounts Payable process, including invoice processing, payment runs, and supplier account management
Ensure effective handling and resolution of supplier queries in a timely manner
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Take ownership of the employee expenses process, including review, control, and payment through Expensify, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
Banking & Cash Operations
Manage all banking activities, including account administration, and user access controls across multiple banking platforms
Oversee and review bank reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Support cash flow management by monitoring balances across entities and currencies.
Finance Systems & Process Improvement
Act as a key finance systems administrator, ensuring systems are maintained, accurate, and used effectively across the function
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and control
Support the optimisation and automation of finance operations wherever possible
Payroll, Pensions & Finance Administration
Oversee pension scheme administration, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
Support the coordination of global payrolls, ensuring accurate inputs and effective liaison with HR and external providers
Ensure all operational finance activities are supported by accurate and well-maintained records
Controls, Compliance & Governance
Ensure robust financial controls, processes, and procedures are in place across all finance operations
Maintain compliance with local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring documentation is complete and accessible
Promote best practice in record-keeping and electronic document management
Improve the quality and control of payment requests across the business, promoting better planning, accuracy (including VAT treatment), and compliance with established processes.
Team Management
Manage, support, and develop the Finance Assistants, ensuring high standards of performance
Provide guidance, training, and oversight to drive continuous improvement
Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and collaboration
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team to support broader finance activities
Build strong relationships across the business to ensure efficient financial processes and support operational needs
Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.
