The person appointed will be a key member of the Student Support and Experience Department.
With the support of the Head of Learner Support and Experience and Careers colleagues, the post-holder will work on primarily supporting our Dublin and Limerick campuses with a level of support to our Cork campus.
Role Summary:
Griffith College, Ireland’s largest private higher education institution, is looking to appoint an experienced Careers and Industry Partnership Officer. They will work with key internal and external stakeholders to help deliver appropriate supports and services that meet student needs across our varied learner groups, namely:
- Full-time Irish, EU and non-EU students
- Part-time Irish, EU and non-EU students (on residency visas)
- Blended Irish, EU and non-EU students (on residency visas)
- Fully online Irish, EU and non-EU students (on residency visas)
Job Responsibilities:
- Career planning and graduate employment advisory, including facilitating the awareness of employment opportunities among students.
- One–to-one career guidance for students, CV review, LinkedIn profile, interview preparation.
- Provide skills development and employability workshops both in person and online. These may be held in the evening and / or on a Saturday.
- Supporting Programme Placements. For example, our BSc (Hons) in Computing Science students in Dublin and to a lesser degree in Cork. Including CV review for students along with various workshops and interview support.
- More generally, supporting our Faculties establishing, co-ordinating and maintaining active career development and employability programmes both within and outside of the curriculum.
- Maintain and being proactive in employer engagement and partnerships.
- The role will be supporting our campuses in Limerick and Cork and will require travel to these campuses on a monthly basis.
- Manage communication of job vacancies and internships.
- Maintain up-to-date career and labour market information.
- Support marketing, promotional materials, and handbooks where appropriate.
- Coordinate careers events, workshops, and seminars.
- Completing with the other members of the Careers Team in-depth and regular reporting of service activities.
- Assist with graduate outcome surveys and reporting.
- Contribute to careers service strategy.
- Progressing the Careers Service within Griffith College, including working with Careers Team colleagues on introducing new initiatives and improving effectiveness.
- Representing Griffith College as required from time to time.
- Undertaking such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Griffith College.
Minimum Education / Experience Requirements:

- Primary undergraduate degree
- Experience in career development and guidance, preferably at Third Level
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organisational and project management ability
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently

- Support, Guidance and Advice. Considerable experience in provided support, guidance and advice to students / learners.
- Communicating Effectively: Ability to engage in written and oral communication that is clear, unambiguous, transparent, and consistent with Griffith’s Values, to convey and share information and ideas with others, listen carefully, clarify understanding and consider different cultures and viewpoints.
- Organisational Awareness: Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Griffith College in its entirety, including governance structures and regulations.
- Building Relationships: Ability to build effective working relationships within own area and more broadly, to encourage cooperation and collaboration in others and foster partnerships to achieve results in the careers and employability space.
- Taking Initiative: Ability to make suggestions for improvements in own work area and acts early to address and resolve problems and find solutions.
- Candidates must demonstrate an awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion agenda.
