Floor Care Technician - Housekeeping (FT)

SUMMARYAs a Floor Care Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining all flooring surfaces (tile, carpet, cement, etc.) throughout the resort properties to meet the resort’s high standards of cleanliness and safety, while delivering outstanding customer service to guests and staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Possess full knowledge of floor cleaning equipment and appropriate floor cleaning supplies Maintain familiarity with the entire resort complex and outlying areas Consistently demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with both internal and external guests Securely maintain and properly care for radios, keys, and resort vehicles, ensuring their return at the end of each shift Respond promptly and professionally to all service calls via radio, phone, or earpiece Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of all floor surfaces, including carpets, tiles, and cement floors Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of all floor care equipment Identify and report any floor-related issues or concerns to management Coordinate, as needed, special cleaning projects and collaborate with management to meet unique floor care needs Collaborate politely and professionally with other departments and managers regarding special cleaning needs Foster positive working relationships and maintain a supportive attitude with fellow employees Adhere to all GTRS grooming and uniform standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook Present a professional image to GTRS staff and guests at all times Follow all OSHA standards and resort guidelines for safe machine and chemical use Support other areas of the housekeeping department as needed due to business demand or management request Maintain open communication with supervisors and management Comply with the resort’s environmental practices and sustainability initiatives (Green Mission Statement, etc.) EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Minimum of 6 months prior experience operating commercial floor care cleaning equipment required Must be at least 21 years of age Valid Michigan driver’s license and insurability under the Resort’s insurance policy required Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Demonstrate patience, a positive and upbeat personality, and a team-oriented work ethic Exhibit professionalism and tact in frequent interactions with guests and coworkers Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and communication skills Consistently maintain a positive attitude Ability to meet strict deadlines TYPICAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS Frequently required to use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects and to communicate verbally Continuously required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 30lbs Must be able to come into contact and clean bodily fluids Earpieces may be required to be worn at times to avoid interfering with the guest experience Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Capable of handling stressful, fast-paced environments with hard deadlines and long or irregular hours Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication abilities WORKING CONDITIONS Work environment may be loud and fast-paced Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Employee parking proximity to resort entrance varies season to season due to business volume   The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by this position and is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills.
