PROGRAM AREA: EarlyON Family Support

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Contract 9 weeks (June 29 to August 29)

HOURS/WEEK:  30 hours per week (may including some evening and weekend hours)

Eligibility requirements

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status (international students are not eligible)
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada

About EarlyON

EarlyON Child and Family Centres provide children and parents/caregivers opportunities to participate in high quality play and inquiry-based programs, led and facilitated by Registered Early Childhood Educators.

Principal job duties

• Assist with preparing materials for crafts and activities
• Ensure room is set up for each session
• Maintain a safe, positive, enriching environment for children through plan
• Role-model positive child-parent interactions during group sessions
• Role-model positive child-adult interactions during group sessions
• Communicates with parents as needed 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent customer service skills
• Enjoys a variety of tasks
• Experience working with children and families
• Able to work with a team and independently
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
• This role is well suited for candidates looking for experience in family support and early childhood education
