As Product and Technical Specialist, Casualty & Financial Lines, internally known as Portfolio Specialist, you will support the performance, governance and delivery of portfolio activity across Guild’s Casualty portfolio. This role offers broad and meaningful exposure to a diverse portfolio and is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical insurance or underwriting experience who is looking to build deeper capability in portfolio management.
You will work closely with Underwriting, Claims, Distribution, Product, Analytics and Operations to support portfolio reporting, insights, documentation and execution. Your work will help the team make informed decisions, identify trends and deliver practical initiatives that support sustainable portfolio outcomes
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Support portfolio reporting, analysis and governance across Casualty
- →Prepare insights, summaries and documentation that support portfolio decisions
- →Analyse portfolio data, claims trends, customer insights and market information to identify risks and opportunities
- →Support product, pricing and underwriting initiatives that improve portfolio performance
- →Coordinate portfolio activity with Underwriting, Claims, Distribution, Product, Analytics and Operations
- →Assist with committee papers, reporting packs and recommendations for review
- →Monitor competitor and market activity to inform portfolio planning
- →Contribute to internal updates, training material and stakeholder communications
- →Technical insurance experience, ideally gained in financial lines underwriting or a closely related role
- →A sound understanding of Financial Lines, Casualty or related insurance products
- →Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data, reporting and performance trends
- →Clear written communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise summaries, documentation and recommendations
- →A collaborative style and the ability to work effectively with technical and commercial stakeholders
- →Curiosity, attention to detail and a willingness to keep building portfolio management capability
- →Relevant industry qualifications such as ANZIIF, RG146 Tier 1 General Insurance or related study will be well regarded
