Advanced Practice Nurse (Psychiatric) 

1.

Lead and supervise a nursing team within a clinical unit.

2.

Develop professional nursing standard, care protocol and clinical pathway.

3.

Provide complex patient care in a specialty/subspecialty.

4.

Act as a resource and referral agent on clinical expertise.

5.

Manage nurse-led services to provide specialized patient care.

6.

Train and supervise nurse learners in advanced nursing specialty training.

7.

Initiate and participate in evidenced-based practice and nursing research.

8.

Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the service.

1.

Holder of a valid Registered (Psychiatric) Nurse practicing certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.

2.

Qualification in advanced nursing specialty*.

3.

A degree in Nursing or equivalent.

* Qualification in advanced nursing specialty refers to recognized post-registration certificate, or post-graduate certificate/diploma course in nursing specialty, or Master in nursing # or related discipline with considerable coverage on a relevant nursing specialty.

#Only post-registration Master in nursing programmes are accepted

Demonstrated competency requirements and leadership ability of an APN.

2.

A Master degree in nursing or related discipline.

3.

Contribution to professional development including research/evidence-based practice, teaching and training.
