Medical Technologist (Microbiology) [For Serving HA Staff Only]

Department/ Cluster: Pathology Department, Kowloon East Cluster (Tseung Kwan O Hospital / Haven of Hope Hospital)
Pay: HK$61,618 to HK$88,971 [HGPS point 25 to 33] per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct and exercise quality control on routine and special medical laboratory tests and examinations.
2. Take charge of a medical laboratory, a section of a large medical laboratory, a core laboratory shift, and an one-man laboratory.
3. Participate in method and instrument evaluation.
4. Train laboratory staff.
5. Report duties in both TKOH Microbiology Laboratory and HHH Clinical Laboratory if necessary
6. Shift duty in TKOH Microbiology Laboratory required.

Entry Requirements:
1. Be a registered Part I (full registration) Medical Laboratory Technologist and have a valid Practicing Certificate under the Allied Health Professions Ordinance.
2. At least 5 years' experience in medical laboratory services.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure:

2. Contribution to professional development including set-up new test, i.CEO log, stock keeping, teaching and training.
3. Contribution to accreditation including internal audit, calibration, and EQAP.
4. Contribution to laboratory services in demand surge.
5. Experience in handling MDO screening, virology testing, routine bacterial culture is preferred.
