Medical Technologist (Microbiology) [For Serving HA Staff Only]

Department/ Cluster: Pathology Department, Kowloon East Cluster (United Christian Hospital)
Pay: HK$61,618 to HK$88,971 (HGPS point 25 to 33) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibility: 
1. Conduct and exercise quality control on routine and special medical microbiology laboratory tests and examinations.
2. Take charge of a section of a large medical microbiology laboratory, and a one-man microbiology laboratory shift.
3. Participate in molecular laboratory testing of infectious disease.
4. Participate in method and instrument evaluation.
5. Participate in equipment calibration.
6. Assist SMT in the management of laboratory (such as inventory, stock keeping).
7. Train laboratory staff.

Entry Requirements:
1. Be a registered Part I (full registration) Medical Laboratory Technologist and have a valid Practicing Certificate under the Allied Health Professions Ordinance. 
2. At least 5 years' experience in medical laboratory services.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure:
1. MSc in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent. (see Remark 2)
