Pay
HK$206,831 to HK$221,304 [HMPS point 27 to 29] per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Manager (Nursing), the Principal Nursing Officer will take a leading role in the development of nursing standard and workforce planning which contributes to strengthen the framework and infrastructure for quality patient care.

1.    Assist the Chief Manager (Nursing) in the development of nursing professionals / teams. 
2.    Take charge of nursing workforce planning to meet current and future service needs:  
(i)    Establish standardized manpower tools for assessment of nursing resources;
(ii)    Recommend allocation of nurses to cluster hospitals; and
(iii)    Initiate measures to retain high quality nurses.
3.    Monitor territory-wide nursing programs development and intake plans.
4.    Establish and review nursing manpower references for planning.
5.    Direct the development and implementation of systems and information technology for support of nursing practice and management.
6.    Responsible for quality and standard development in nursing practice.  
7.    Lead workgroups and project teams for various nursing systems maintenance and development.
8.    Contribute appropriately to the regulation of the nursing profession.  
9.    Maintain a system for monitoring the renewal of practicing certificate of nurses and midwives.
10.    Collaborate and work with other disciplines to contribute to the overall goals and targets of HA in its delivery of quality healthcare services.
11.    Perform any other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Entry Requirements:
1.    Relevant tertiary education and a professional qualification in nursing and healthcare management, at a minimum of Masters level.
2.    At least 10 years of proven experience in senior nursing and healthcare management position.
3.    Good knowledge of the operation of public hospital system in Hong Kong and/or overseas.
4.    Exceptional leadership qualities as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5.    Creative and innovative, calculated risk-taking style of problem solving supplemented by an extraordinary ability to “think beyond the norm”.
6.    Ability to operate as an advocate for nurses whilst being a management leader.

Preferable Attributes/Exposure:
1.    Extensive knowledge of local and international health care systems.
2.    Experience in local and/or overseas health care systems.
3.    Forward looking strategic thinker.
4.    High level analytical skills.
5.    Good communication and negotiation skills.
