Would you like to lead Housekeeping at one of Europe’s most unique hotel and event destinations?

Job Advertisement

Idyllically located by the fjord in Stokke, Vestfold, lies Europe’s largest Convention Village. Oslofjord Convention Center is a unique destination featuring conference facilities, hotels, restaurants, event arenas, and sports facilities of international standard. Everything from conferences and large-scale events to banquets and gatherings with several thousand guests is hosted here.

Oslofjord Hotel is currently undergoing a phase of development where professionalism, service culture, and operational excellence are high priorities. In recent years, the organization has worked systematically to establish clearer structures, more defined responsibilities, and the continued development of the hotel product. The facility is owned by a foundation whose sole purpose is to generate revenue for the maintenance and further development of the property.

We are now looking for a Housekeeping Manager who will help take this work to the next level. This is not a traditional housekeeping role, but a key leadership position within a hotel operation characterized by high complexity, large volumes, and ambitious goals.

The role will be essential in ensuring quality, operational stability, and excellent guest experiences. At the same time, processes, standards, and workflows must continue to evolve in line with the company’s strategic development.

This position is ideal for someone motivated by leadership, logistics, quality, and continuous improvement. You are driven by the opportunity to influence and further develop people, processes, and service delivery.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As Housekeeping Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the daily operations and development of the Housekeeping department at Oslofjord Hotel. The role includes responsibility for personnel, results, and ensuring stable service delivery in accordance with established standards, procedures, and quality requirements.

This is an operational role with close involvement in day-to-day activities. Efficient resource utilization, logistics, and service quality will be central to your responsibilities. At the same time, you will play an important role in developing routines, workflows, and cross-departmental collaboration.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, developing, and following up employees within the department

  • Building culture, structure, and execution capability within the team

  • Ensuring cost-efficient and profitable operations within approved budgets and targets

  • Preparing budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the Room Operational Manager and finance department

  • Monitoring costs, resource utilization, and improvement initiatives

  • Owning standards, procedures, checklists, and service requirements

  • Ensuring quality controls, inspections, and training according to plans and standards

  • Following up on deviations, guest feedback, and improvement opportunities

  • Optimizing logistics, routines, and workflows

  • Collaborating closely with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery

  • Managing suppliers and agreements within the department’s area of responsibility

The position reports to the Room Operational Manager.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are looking for a leader who combines clarity, structure, and execution capability with the ability to create engagement and strong results through others.

You most likely have experience from cruise operations, hotels, service industries, or other operational environments characterized by high pace, large volumes, and clear quality and delivery requirements.

We would like you to have:

  • Relevant education combined with experience from a similar role

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience with personnel responsibility

  • Experience with financial follow-up, budgeting, and resource management

  • Experience with structured quality management and continuous improvement

  • Strong English skills, both written and spoken — preferably combined with a Nordic language

  • Basic digital skills

  • Experience with logistics and/or Lean methodologies is an advantage

In terms of personal qualities, we will place particular emphasis on you being:

  • Structured, methodical, and results/cost-conscious

  • A clear, confident, and inclusive leader with strong execution skills

  • Collaborative, solution-oriented, and proactive

  • Focused on quality and strong service delivery

  • Skilled at building motivation, culture, and teamwork

It will be important that you are able to lead through others, ensure stable deliveries, and work systematically with improvements across departments.

WHY CHOOSE THE COMPANY AND THIS OPPORTUNITY?

At Oslofjord Hotel, you will take on a central leadership role in a business that clearly differs from traditional hotel operations. With capacity, logistics, and facilities on a scale that is unique in Norway, you will have a role offering broad responsibility, high complexity, and significant influence.

Oslofjord is currently in a phase of operational and commercial development. Clearer structures, stronger professional focus, and ambitious goals for the continued development of the hotel product and service delivery have been established.

We offer:

  • A key role in the further development of a unique hotel and event destination

  • The opportunity to influence workflows, standards, and operational practices

  • A collaborative environment characterized by positive teamwork and pride in the product delivered

  • A business with a high level of activity, large volumes, and clear ambitions

  • The opportunity to contribute to the further development of quality, service culture, and guest experience within a complex hotel operation

  • Personal development opportunities
