~1 min readResponsible for growing the marine engine sales through direct personal sales contact with customers in commercial, large vessels and OEM’s as well as managing and growing parts and service sales through Authorized Marine Dealers (AMD) and Tuna Fleet customers.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Locate and become informed on all marine projects to be built by owners and engineering firms, licensed agreements (shipyards) or corporations located within our territory.
- Projects involving brokers, exporters or other dealers will be assigned by the Engine Business Manager on a project by project basis.
- Make routine calls to assigned customers to obtain any equipment, parts, and/or service sales opportunity and to keep an ongoing rapport with the customers.
- Inspect customer’s engine(s) for overall condition and to initiate sales of parts and services (i.e. Engine repair, etc.) when needed.
- Submit weekly reports to report customers called upon, their activities, problems, etc.
- Submit customer quotes; maintain and update customer database.
- Responsible for working with the product support sales team for helping with compiling and delivering to the customer all parts/service proposals/estimates; maintain the Engine Population Listing and Customer Name and Address Listing.
- Work with Authorized Marine Dealers to ensure compliance with all Caterpillar’s requirements including parts, service and sales.
- Perform any and all other job duties that may be assigned as necessary to meet company, department or individual goals/objectives.
- Must have over 5 years of previous marine equipment and industry knowledge.

- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Must have a valid CA Class C License.
- Walking and moving about on foot.
- Handling: Seizes, helps or works with hands.
- Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous parts and manages paperwork.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
- Vision: Read computer and paperwork.
- Talking: Communications by phone and in person.
- Sitting: Sits at desk. Sits for long periods of time.
- Climbing: Climb on and off marine machines/engines and ships.
- Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
- Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment.
