The People & Talent Manager is a key member of the People team responsible for delivering high-quality HR support across the employee lifecycle while partnering with leaders to attract, develop, and retain top talent. This role combines hands-on ownership of talent acquisition with broad HR responsibilities including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and HR operations. This role will be split 50/50 on HR & Recruiting tasks and will fluctuate based on the needs of the team & organization.

The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to managers and employees while helping build scalable people processes that support Heartbeat Health's continued growth.

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for clinical, corporate, and operational positions from requisition through offer acceptance.

  • Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies, define hiring profiles, and drive efficient hiring processes.

  • Source, screen, interview, and manage candidate pipelines while ensuring an exceptional candidate experience.

  • Coordinate interviews, facilitate hiring decisions, and manage offer preparation and pre-employment activities.

  • Track recruiting metrics and identify opportunities to improve hiring efficiency and quality.

  • Support workforce planning and succession planning initiatives.

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned departments, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, coaching, and policy interpretation.

  • Advise managers on employee performance issues, corrective action, documentation, and conflict resolution.

  • Support investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions while maintaining confidentiality and consistency.

  • Coach leaders on employee development, engagement, and best management practices.

  • Partner with leadership to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture.

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience.

  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data accuracy while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Administer HR processes including employee status changes, promotions, compensation updates, and organizational changes.

  • Support benefits administration, leave of absence coordination, and employee questions regarding HR programs.

  • Assist with payroll coordination and ensure timely processing of personnel changes.

  • Develop and maintain HR documentation, SOPs, and internal resources.

  • Support performance review cycles, goal-setting processes, and talent development initiatives.

  • Assist managers in creating performance improvement plans and development plans as needed.

  • Coordinate learning and development initiatives, compliance training, and new manager education.

  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company culture efforts.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of progressive HR & recruiting experience with increasing responsibility, including experience partnering directly with managers.

  • Experience managing full-cycle recruiting across multiple functions and levels.

  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, HR operations, and employment law.

  • Experience supporting healthcare, telehealth, or other regulated industries.

  • Experience supporting multi-state employment practices and compliance.

  • Experience with benefits administration, leave management, and HR compliance.

  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, remote environment.
