This is a fully legal, on-the-books household employee position. The family will provide a W-2 and comply with all applicable federal, New York State, and household employment laws.

The position is structured around a guaranteed 40-hour workweek (Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM). While compensation is offered as an annual salary of $75,000–$85,000, the role will also have an equivalent hourly rate in compliance with household employment and wage laws.

Approximate hourly equivalent:

  • $75,000/year = approximately $36.06/hour
  • $85,000/year = approximately $40.87/hour

Any hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek will be compensated at the applicable overtime rate in accordance with federal and New York labor laws.

A warm and thoughtful Upper West Side family is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organized Full-Time Nanny / Household Manager to support their home and care for their energetic and curious 7-year-old son.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely loves exploring New York City with children and can independently create engaging, enriching afternoons filled with outdoor adventures, museum visits, library trips, playdates, and creative activities. The family is looking for a candidate who can confidently take ownership of the child’s schedule and experiences while also maintaining a well-run household during school hours.

  • Transportation via walking, subway, bus, and occasional Uber

  • Verifiable long-term references from previous employers, preferably NYC-based families
  • Strong household management and organizational skills
  • Comfortable managing both childcare and household support responsibilities independently
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (current or willing to renew prior to start date)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Fully vaccinated
  • Valid government-issued identification
  • Willingness to complete a comprehensive background check, reference checks, and payroll onboarding
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Non-smoker
  • Comfortable with large dogs and daily pet care responsibilities
  • Physically active and comfortable navigating New York City via walking and public transportation
  • Strong judgment, initiative, and ability to independently plan engaging activities and outings
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism within a private household
  • Previous experience in nanny/household manager hybrid roles
