Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with some flexibility in evening end times

Compensation: $27–$30/hour

 

- 40 guaranteed hours

- 4 PTO days, including sick days (accrued)

Hello Nanny! is assisting a loving and busy family of five in Omaha, Nebraska, specifically in the Elkhorn area, in finding a temporary nanny for three children (ages 8, 4, and 3) until the family is relocating out-of state in July 2026. The children are all in school, with the younger two attending preschool until 5–6 PM. This family values a nurturing, organized, and energetic caregiver who can provide attentive supervision, support daily routines, and engage the children in age-appropriate activities.

 

The role includes school pick-ups, transportation to extracurricular activities, meal preparation for the children, bedtime routines, and organizing and maintaining children’s spaces. Light local driving is required for pickups and activities.

 

This is a short-term, four-month position, ideal for a professional seeking a structured, supportive environment to provide consistent care.

 

- Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for three children (ages 8, 4, and 3), ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement throughout the day

- Manage school pick-ups and transportation to extracurricular activities such as gymnastics or soccer, ensuring timely arrival and supervision

- Prepare and serve meals for the children, including clean-up afterward, and maintain a healthy, structured eating routine

- Oversee bathing, bedtime routines, and preparation for the following day, including laying out clothes, backpacks, and school materials

- Support children’s learning and development through structured play, age-appropriate activities, and homework assistance as needed

- Maintain clear, consistent communication with parents regarding daily activities, milestones, and any concerns

 

- Manage and organize children’s laundry, including washing, folding, and storing clothing appropriately

- Maintain tidy, organized play areas and children’s spaces, ensuring toys and materials are properly stored

- Assist with light household organization tasks related to children, such as restocking supplies, organizing closets, and maintaining a safe environment

- Ensure all areas used during the day are cleaned, reset, and prepared for the next day’s activities

 

- Minimum of three years of professional childcare experience, with at least one year in a private household preferred

- Experience caring for multiple children, ideally including toddlers and preschoolers

- Comfortable following a detailed daily schedule independently and managing children without constant guidance

- Highly reliable, punctual, and professional; able to focus on children without phone or personal distractions

- Energetic, nurturing, patient, kind, and genuinely invested in supporting healthy child development

- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond calmly to children’s needs and adjust to schedule changes as needed

- Additional language skills in Portuguese or Spanish are a bonus

- Local candidates or those within a reasonable commuting distance to Elkhorn, NE, preferred

- Must have their own vehicle for light driving, including school pick-ups and short local trips; mileage will be reimbursed

- Understands that this is a temporary position and can commit to consistent coverage throughout the duration

 

- Minimum of three years of professional childcare experience, preferably with at least one year in a private household

- Experience caring for multiple children, including toddlers and preschoolers

- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire

- Strong understanding of age-appropriate activities, routines, and developmental milestones

- Ability to follow detailed schedules independently while remaining flexible to children’s needs

- Must have their own vehicle for light childcare-related driving, with valid insurance (mileage reimbursed)

- Fluent in English; Portuguese or Spanish is a plus

- Must be at least 21 years old
