Grower

Assist in the production of high-quality ornamental plants by ensuring proper nutrition, environmental control, and pest management. Work closely with the Head Grower and Senior Grower to optimize greenhouse operations and maintain production standards.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure plants receive appropriate nutrients and water based on established protocols.
• Observe and adjust the greenhouse environment as needed to maintain optimal growing conditions.
• Monitor plant health and minimize waste through proactive management strategies.
• Assist with Integrated Pest Management (IPM), including monitoring for pests and diseases and applying appropriate treatments.
• Maintain accurate records of crop conditions, shrink reports, and spray applications.
• Communicate daily with the Head Grower and Senior Grower to coordinate tasks and ensure continuous improvement.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Horticulture degree or diploma
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• Working knowledge of greenhouse management systems
• Self-motivated with demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Willing to be on call and work weekends as needed
• Valid spray/pesticide license
