Registered Lab Technologist

The Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine program (HRLMP) is a collaborative program funded and operated jointly by Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph's Healthcare. The program is committed to change and innovation, through education, service and research, to bring the highest quality science into healthcare for the benefit of the community and to participate in the clinical application and interpretation of the science.

This position is temporary until October 2027

• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technologist certification program(Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences) 
• Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
•  Minimum 1 year experience in Chemistry within the last 3 years 
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality control as it relates to clinical chemistry
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills;  including error identification, troubleshooting, resolution and follow-up
• Demonstrated knowledge of role and responsibility of an MLT in a quality management system
• Effective conflict resolution skills.
• Technical knowledge of the principles and techniques of chemistry testing methods
• Excellent communication, organization and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated high degree of self motivation and organization 
• Computer skills including Meditech and Microsoft office applications
•  Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and improving individual competence, as well as contributing to the education and development of students, residents and co-workers
