Finance Manager - interim role

Responsibilities

Financial management

• Ensuring the DDP budget vs actuals and the proper codification of expenses are prepared monthly, analyzing the trends (both on specific donor budgets and overall DDP yearly budget)
• Based on the budget vs actuals, advising the PM and the program teams on budget consumption patterns.
• Sharing the budget vs actuals with the PM (monthly) and program teams (quarterly)
• Preparing and managing the program’s annual audit and ensuring that the program audit is delivered to the donor by the agreed timeline.
• Managing the annual budget preparation process and reporting of it
• Ensuring Donor regulation compliance throughout the programming and ensuring that procedures are aligned with Donor agreements
• Overseeing end of year closures with the support of the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant
• Advising the PM on the design of financial accounts and formulation of financial targets.

Quality Improvement

• Supporting the program teams to integrate risk management into routine project management processes.
• Supporting the PM and the program teams on compliance and reporting
• Overseeing the application of accurate procedures
• Approving the reclasses and providing guidance to Finance Officers for correct allocation of donor budget lines in All Solutions

Financial reporting

• Finalizing the donor financial reports, including financial narratives (drafted by Finance Officer)
• Supporting the preparation of any potential donor proposals (for the budget and financial narrative)
• Overseeing the preparation of Hivos internal reports (support from Finance Officers)

Team Management

• Management of Finance officer and Finance assistant
• Close collaboration with other Operations Team members and Grants team
