Adjunct Nurse Faculty is responsible for instructing students in assigned courses, on-campus labs and/or in the clinical area according to the course plan. S/he participates in the planning and development of the curriculum of the nursing programs as well as in the implementation and evaluation of the program of study. S/he participates as full members of Faculty Organization and Campus Curriculum Committees. Part-time faculty may participate as members of Faculty Organization and Curriculum and are encouraged to do so. The Bylaws of the nursing program outline the voting privileges of part time Faculty. As a member of Faculty Organization, Faculty members are responsible and accountable for overall program outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Experience of at least two years full-time in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse or part-time equivalent.
  • Incumbent must possess an active and unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio, as well as a current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BCLS) compliant with the American Heart Association.

General Credentialing Requirements:

Applicants selected and receiving an offer of employment will be required to complete key credentialing requirements for clinical placements prior to being cleared for start. Full detailed information is provided at time of offer. A summary of requirements includes:

  • Providing copies of official transcripts for all degrees earned
  • Providing a copy of current American Heart Association BLS or ACLS CPR card
  • Completion of a physical form (from within the last 12 months)
  • Immunization documentation for:
    • Hepatitis B
    • MMR
    • TDAP/Tetanus
    • TB (2 step)
    • Varicella
    • FLU (October 1 – April 1 hires)
