Are you an experienced water or wastewater engineer ready to lead critical infrastructure projects while maintaining a healthy work-life balance? A stable, mission-driven public utility in the Metro Atlanta area is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee engineering operations, manage key projects, and guide a talented team. Candidates open to relocating to the Atlanta area are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership & Team Management Lead daily operations of the engineering department Supervise, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff Assign projects and resolve technical issues Develop work plans aligned with organizational goals 2. Engineering & Design Review Review water distribution and wastewater collection system designs Evaluate development submittals for compliance and constructability Analyze system performance, hydraulic issues, and water quality 3. Project & Infrastructure Management Identify system rehabilitation and replacement projects Prepare cost estimates and track project budgets, schedules, and performance Coordinate engineering activities with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies 4. Field & System Analysis Participate in field investigations and hydraulic analysis Conduct fire flow testing and evaluate system capacity for new developments 5. Compliance & Stakeholder Coordination Ensure engineering projects meet regulatory and organizational standards Maintain emergency preparedness and safety procedures Represent the organization in meetings with developers, engineers, and agencies Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or PE-track 8+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience, including leadership roles Experience with design review, project management, and regulatory compliance Strong communication and leadership skills Why Join Us: Lead meaningful water/wastewater infrastructure projects Minimal travel and excellent work-life balance Long-term stability with a strong pension program Relocation assistance for candidates moving to Atlanta
