Schedule: 36 - 40 hours per week.

Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides quality care in collaboration with Medical Providers, Integrated Care Consultants, and Medical Assistants. The RN or LPN supports the Nurse Clinic Manager to provide quality medical care to all Hunter Health Clinic (HHC) patients while maintaining compliance with all federal grants, OSHA, Kansas State Board of Nursing, and HHC policies and procedures.



Essential Functions:

  • Assists Medical Providers, other Nurses, and Medical Assistants with patient care.
  • Sets up patient rooms, tray and patient themselves for exams by what the visit entails.
  • Follows all processes and procedures during patient visits, including capturing vitals, perform procedures and follow-up, and administer medication as requested by provider.
  • Completes all documentation on patients for historical information, vaccinations, chief complaints, procedures, patient encounters, phone calls, referrals, education, medication, and follow-ups.
  • Assists with monitoring inventory and keeping the storage supply closet organized.
  • Follows all infection prevention protocols including handwashing, cleaning of the exam rooms, monitoring biohazard disposal receptables and sharps containers.
  • Completes all communication with patients and medication requests within HHC expected timeframes.
  • Completes all internal processing forms accurately.
  • Assists with managing quality and productivity standards.
  • Adheres to the Hunter Health Process focusing on schedule utilization, jockeying, 30-second reports, and other patient procedures.
  • Travels when necessary to meet operational needs.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Kansas is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, within 30 days of hire.
  • 1-3 years of experience in healthcare is required. Experience in a community health center is preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities are preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges.

  • Mathematical Ability: The ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
