Position requires regular travel between our West Point, GA and Montgomery, AL locations.

Job Summary: 
This position will be responsible for the 24x7 day-to-day operations of the Montgomery Alabama Integrated Data Center(IDC). This includes all co-location facilities, and managed hosting. The IDC Manager will own the day-to-day management, monitoring, and provisioning of the physical infrastructure used to deliver IS applications and services. The DC manager will also work closely with the HMMA and KaGA Customer Service Managers, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Managers and Security Manager teams on the delivery, security, and compliance of datacenter solutions,  processes and infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities: 

Leadership and Communications (50%)
• Provide leadership to a team of operational employees in the delivery of DC services
• Host weekly staff meetings
• Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
• Collaborate with other Automotive Manufacturing teams to deliver the highest level of operational efficiency and effectiveness possible
• Identify synergies and process standardization opportunities across teams
• Manage the IDC section operational finances and budget.
• Recruit/Retain qualified staff; develop and mentor existing team members
Data Center Management (25%)
•  Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians
• Coordinate change management resources
• Manage the physical co-location for datacenter tenants, including managing space, racking and cabling enterprise systems, documenting rack elevations, and asset inventory
• Process invoices related to DC hosting, rent, power & circuit cost.
• Maintain configuration and patch levels for all Windows and Linux servers within the datacenter.
• Maintain the on-call schedule coordinating absence and vacations
• Maintain all DR documentation and schedule bi-annual testing.
• Manage the physical security and access processes of the datacenter.
• Manage storage space and storage capacity.
• System backup /restore operations including Implementing best practices, daily monitoring of backup jobs, correcting failures, and offsite storage.
• High level operational system monitoring, management dashboards & alert response.

Project Management (25%)
• Manage a large portfolio of projects, tasks, issues and systems.
• Attend weekly project update meetings
• Coordinate projects with HAE, CBU's, and all datacenter tenants 


Required Skills, Attributes & Education:

• Candidate should possess a Bachelors degree in Computer or Information Science
• 10+ years of directly related work experience.
• 5+ years of data center management experience with strong project management skills
• Must excel at verbal/written communications and be comfortable in front of large groups.
• 10+ years’ experience in the areas of Networks, Telephone, Security, Windows/linux Client Server environments.  
• Candidate must possess a broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, to include virtualization technologies.
• Data center management experience and knowledge of cabling best practices
• Cisco CCNP,   Microsoft MCSE, or CISSP certifications - Preferred

Pay Range - $128,000 to $145,000
