Job Purpose
The Recruitment and Training Manager is responsible for leading and managing both the talent acquisition and learning & development functions within IBSUniversity and its affiliated entities.
This role ensures the organization attracts, hires, and retains high-quality talent while also developing employee capability through structured training programs. The position supports IBS’s strategic goals by building a skilled workforce and fostering a culture of continuous learning, performance, and excellence.
The Recruitment and Training Manager plays a critical role in shaping IBS’s workforce by attracting top talent and building employee capability, ensuring the organization continues to grow and achieve its mission.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition Strategy
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for academic, administrative, and technical roles
- Collaborate with department heads to identify current and future staffing needs
- Build talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill roles
- Stay updated on recruitment trends and best practices
2. End-to-End Recruitment Process
- Manage the full recruitment cycle (job posting, sourcing, screening, interviews, selection)
- Develop job descriptions and interview frameworks
- Manage relationships with recruitment agencies, job boards, and networks
- Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the process
3. Employer Branding
- Promote IBS as an employer of choice through branding and social media
- Represent IBS at job fairs, career expos, and industry events
- Develop recruitment marketing materials
4. Onboarding & Employee Integration
- Design and manage onboarding programs for new hires
- Ensure smooth integration of employees into the organization
- Align onboarding with IBS culture, values, and expectations
5. Training Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement the organization’s Learning & Development (L&D) strategy
- Conduct training needs analysis across all IBS entities
- Prepare annual training plans and budgets
6. Training & Development Programs
- Design and deliver training programs (technical, soft skills, leadership, compliance)
- Coordinate internal and external training providers
- Support employee development and career progression
7. Performance & Capability Building
- Work with managers to address performance gaps through targeted training
- Support performance management initiatives
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement
8. Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure recruitment and training activities comply with policies and regulations
- Maintain accurate records and reports for recruitment and training
- Track metrics such as time-to-fill, training participation, and effectiveness
9. Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead and mentor recruitment and training teams
- Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders across all IBS arms
- Support shared services delivery across IBSUniversity and IBS College of TVET
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field
- Master’s degree is an advantage
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in recruitment, training, or HR
- Proven experience in talent acquisition and learning & development
- Experience in education or shared services environment is an advantage
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of recruitment and training practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of labor laws and expatriate processes
Work Environment
This role operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, supporting multiple departments across IBSUniversity and affiliated entities. The position requires strong coordination, stakeholder engagement and training activities.
