About the Role
~1 min readThe Unit Counselor supports residents by providing care, support, socialization, crisis intervention, and facility monitoring across shelter programs.
Responsibilities
~1 min read• Participate in or conduct orientation for new residents.
• Communicate program processes and activities to residents.
• Provide social support and motivational interviewing interventions.
• Provide transportation for residents to appointments as needed.
• Assist with meal-related activities including warming, serving, and cleanup.
• Document neighborhood activities and resident interactions.
• Participate in crisis intervention as needed.
• Attend management, supervision, and required training meetings.
• Report serious incidents and complete required incident documentation.
• Conduct hourly rounds and ensure resident wellbeing.
• Arrive to work on time and as scheduled.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
