ICON is hiring a UX professional to own the user experience for a core product area within BuildOS - our software platform used by architects, builders, and construction operators. In this role, you will lead end-to-end UX work for tools that connect users to ICON's construction technology, from discovery research through design handoff. You will run customer interviews, map complex workflows, build prototypes, test them with real users, and write specs that engineering can build from. You will work alongside engineers, product leadership, and internal and external customers to shape what gets built and why. This role is based at ICON's Austin, TX office and reports to the Director of Product.

~3 min read- 3+ in UX design, product design, or a similar role.
- A portfolio showing end-to-end design work — research through shipped product, not visual design alone.
- Experience running user interviews and turning qualitative research into design decisions.
- Strong fluency with Figma or a similar tool for wireframing, prototyping, and design systems.
- Experience designing for workflows with real constraints, not only consumer apps.
- Clear communication skills. You can explain design choices to engineers, leaders, and customers.
- Comfort working through ambiguity. You can define the problem, not just solve a defined one.
- Experience in construction technology, architecture, manufacturing, robotics, or another hardware-adjacent field.
- Familiarity with 3D visualization, CAD tools, or spatial design interfaces.
- Experience writing product specs or PRDs alongside design work.
- Background in Jobs-to-Be-Done, continuous discovery, or similar product research frameworks.
- Experience with design systems and component-based design patterns.
