Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead and own IDC’s Asia Pacific research program, including development of research agendas, taxonomy refinement, market definitions, and forecast inputs.
- →Produce high-quality written research deliverables (market notes, taxonomy documents, competitive analyses, and thought leadership reports) focused on business and IT services.
- →Conduct primary research through executive interviews, surveys, and vendor briefings; synthesize findings into structured, defensible market insights.
- →Develop and maintain analytical frameworks covering services industrialization, vendor performances, and country insights.
- →Support quantitative modeling efforts, including market sizing, segmentation, and extraction modeling aligned to IDC Services Tracker methodology.
- →Engage directly with clients (service providers, technology vendors, and enterprise buyers) through inquiry calls, briefings, and presentations; represent IDC at industry events as a subject matter expert.
- →Collaborate cross-functionally with IDC global research teams to ensure alignment with Information Technology Services, Business Process Outsourcing, Engineering Services, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud research programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
- Master of Business Administration or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in market research, management consulting, technology advisory, or strategy roles within Information Technology services, Business Process Outsourcing, engineering services, or artificial intelligence–enabled services environments.
- Demonstrated experience writing structured research documents, white papers, or strategy materials for senior executive audiences.
- Exposure to services pricing models (subscription, consumption-based, outcome-linked) and platform-based delivery environments strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and modeling capabilities (experience with market modeling preferred).
- Experience and understanding of IT services, artificial intelligence, automation, platform orchestration, managed services models and digital transformation concepts.
- Ability to structure taxonomies, frameworks, and market segmentation models with clarity and precision.
- Exceptional writing ability with structured, logical argumentation and executive tone.
- Intellectual curiosity and comfort operating in emerging, ambiguous market areas.
- Strong critical thinking and hypothesis-driven analytical mindset.
- Ability to engage confidently with senior executives.
- High ownership mentality and ability to manage a research program independently.
- Strong collaboration skills across global teams.
- Approximately 10–20% travel (domestic and limited international) for conferences, client meetings, and industry events.
- Hybrid work model preferred (India-based IDC office with flexibility). Remote candidates may be considered based on experience.
