Position Overview

The Construction Helper supports our skilled tradespeople and project leads on residential and commercial restoration and rebuild projects. This is a hands-on, physically active role ideal for someone eager to build a career in construction — no prior experience required, just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Job Responsibilities

Assist carpenters, technicians, and project leads with daily construction and reconstruction tasks on job sites. Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites. Perform demolition work, debris removal, and site cleanup. Help with basic framing, drywall, flooring, painting, and other reconstruction tasks under supervision. Set up and break down job site equipment and safety barriers. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards. Operate hand tools and power tools as directed. Follow instructions from lead technicians and project supervisors accurately and efficiently. Represent ServiceMaster Restore professionally when interacting with clients and property owners.

Job Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent
Ability to work within a team
Takes instruction and stays on task
Follows company guidelines and standards
Good verbal and written and communication skills
Good customer service skills
Can read and follow product label usage instructions
Reports to work on time in a clean, complete uniform

Incumbent must be prepared to:

Move up to 70 pounds often, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching is required.
Express or exchange ideas with others and receive and act on detailed information given.
For safety reasons, respirators, which are used in certain situations, must be able to seal to your face.
Be exposed to various inside and outside working conditions: The change of environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
